  • Members Vote to Change Our Name to ‘North Somerset Parent Carers’

The Our Voice Counts committee recently decided to ask its members their opinion on the name of Our Voice Counts as it was felt there may be other suitable options that would make our group easier to find and more visible to new parents.  There was also another local organisation using a very similar slogan to our name which may also cause confusion for parents, further highlighting the need for the name review.

Following our recent members poll of the best name for our group the majority of voters opted to change our name from Our Voice Counts and the most popular choice was North Somerset Parent Carers.

We will be working hard behind the scenes now to relaunch with our new name, changes coming soon…

  • SEND Reforms 1 Year On – Where Are We Now? – Advance Meeting Question Responses

In advance of our September ’15 meeting we gave people the opportunity to submit questions to the speakers.  We offered this to give everyone an opportunity to have their questions answered whether they could attend or not, or if they felt unable to voice their opinion in the meeting or preferred to remain anonymous.  Using this format also ensures that you are able to receive a full response to any questions that you may have. Please see the response to our advance questions from the meeting speakers below.
